Database Design for Transport Company

The aim of this thesis is to design a database for an incipient transport company, for which the solutions available on the market nowadays don´t make sense due to its size. Within this thesis I am going to concentrate on designing the structure of the database and its implementation on Microsoft SQL Server platform using Microsoft Management Studio tools.

The Bachelor's thesis focuses on spatial analysis of urban transport in České Budějovice. First, the thesis introduces the theoretical concept of urban transport and sets it into a geographical context. Next, it also presents trends in urban transport. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the current arrangement of urban transport in České Budějovice using data from annual reports. The practical part contains outputs based on the author's calculations and data provided by the Transport Company of České Budějovice on the movement of passengers on individual lines of urban transport.

Traumatic consequences of pedestrian - tram interaction and specifics in the case of child - pedestrians

Title: Traumatic consequences of pedestrian-tram interaction and specifics in the case of child-pedestrians Objectives: The aim of the paper is to analyze the issue of pedestrian-tram traffic accidents in respect of injury consequences, based on available literary sources in accordance with the selection criteria. Special attention is paid to where such accidents involve children. The work is part of the grant ANALYSIS OF ACCIDENT EVENTS CHODEC TRAMVAJ. It aims to evaluate the occurrence, type and nature of injuries where collisions have taken place between pedestrians and trams. Methods: The thesis is produced on the basis of literary research. Due to the breadth of the interdisciplinary nature of the issue, literary sources were searched in the NCBI, Sciencedirect, Springerlink, Researchgate, PubMed databases. The first part of the thesis contains a theoretical introduction to the issue of tram transport and the definition of basic concepts, injuries of individual parts of the locomotor system and accident mechanisms in terms of biomechanics. The second part has a descriptive-analytical nature and contains an analysis of individual studies that deal with the health of a pedestrian/child accident, in relation to a tram. Competition in The Railway Passenger Market

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the influence and benefits arising from the presence of competition in the railway passenger transport market for passenger and society. The thesis firstly analyses general characteristics of transport and furthermore aims in more detail at railway passenger transport. In this part it among other things deals with its history and characteristics including comparison with other transport alternatives. The second part describes agencies and institutions regulating transport companies, legal basis, rights and duties of the operators during the process of entering the rail market and its regulation during the performance of the undertaking given and finally the forms of competition in passenger rail transport. Next chapter is concerned with characteristics of the competitors. In the end the thesis evaluates the influence of competitive environment and argues, whether is the competition in the railway passenger market meaningful.

Economic assessment of a business plan of a transport company

The main aim of the Dissertation was to create a method enabling evaluation of a business plan of a firm doing business in the field of freight transport. The Dissertation is based on an actual investment project in which the transport company takes part in two tender procedures. The specific nature of the transport sector complicated the possibility to use classical methods for the evaluation of investment efficiency. Application of the net pre-sent value method to an already implemented investment project confirmed that this method cannot be used to assess the business plan of the transport company. For this reason, it was necessary to draw up a price creation method for both the tender procedures able to en-sure positive profitability of the project with regard to specifics in particular tenders. The subject matter of the tender procedures was the request for proposal concerning vehicle sets of various specifications. The NAL (net advantage to leasing) method was used to decide about the manner of funding of the vehicle sets. For the other tender procedure, a calculation was made to optimize the route in terms of costs, whereby usability of the price creation method was verified in practice.

A purpose of this thesis is to describe andto analyse the present state of transport company ESATRANS Jihlava Ltd. from the view of ecological impacts (impacts of rolling stock, usage of energies, water and materials) and to propose suitable steps which would limit negative impacts upon environment and would be economically convenient for transport company.
